She is a qualified National Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessel (OUPV), a trained youth program educator aboard tall ships and the owner and senior captain of a sloop charter business in Ithaca, NY.

Carolyn Wasik

Carolyn Wasik is a retired art teacher and social worker. She received her BA from Adelphi University on Long Island and her MS in social work from the University of Stony Brook also on Long Island.

Sailing was not a natural thing for her to become involved in as she grew up landlocked on a farm in western New York.

These days she is dividing her time between living and sailing at Long Island and building her home in North Carolina.
